Wilda V. Thompson, age 89, of Peoria, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2019 at Bickford Cottage Care in Peoria.
Wilda was born on November 6, 1929 in Kansas to William Henry and Clara EuViva (Bradford) Bragg. She married Wilbert "Red" Thompson on May 8, 1948 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on October 16, 1994. Also preceding her in death are her parents; her brother, Bill Bragg; and her sister, Jene Alcaraz.
Surviving are her children, Sandy Thompson of Peoria and William "Butch" (Marsha) Thompson of Chillicothe; three grandchildren, Sarah (Doug) Middendorf of Chillicothe, Kate (Jason) McCord of Chillicothe and Scott Thompson of Peoria; and two great-grandchildren, Henry McCord and Ella Middendorf.
Wilda had worked at the Boy Scouts of America office, Bradley University Admissions office, and the Mt. Hawley Country Club office. She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe and Pearce Community Center and she enjoyed playing the organ.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 at St. Edward Catholic Church at 11:30am with visitation held one hour prior to the service at the church. Monsignor Michael Bliss will be officiating. Burial will be at Chillicothe City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Edward Catholic Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
