Vickie Lynn Hughes, age 65, of Chillicothe, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

Vickie was born on July 24, 1957 in Wedron, Illinois to Lloyd Junior “Pete” and Margaret Ella “Peggy” (Armstrong) Petre.  She married Russell E. Hughes in May 8, 1976 in Rome, IL.

Surviving are her husband, Russell; her sons, Brian (Stephanie) Hughes of Tiffin, IA and Eric Hughes of Chicago, IL; her granddaughter, Kinlee Victoria Hughes; her brother, Dale (Mary) Petre of Champaign, IL; her sister, Pam Christenson of Hopewell, IL and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Cindy Welch.

Vickie worked for Eurest and was based out of Caterpillar.  In her younger years she enjoyed Wednesday night bowling and she was very active in the lives of her boys and her granddaughter; she enjoyed the trips to Iowa to visit Kinlee. 

Services will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 11am at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Cemetery in Edelstein.  Memorials in Vickie’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.  Online condolences may be made through www.weberhurdfuneralhome.com
