Sylvia L. Banwart, age 95, died May 8, 2017 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka, IL. She was born December 24, 1921 to Otto and Pauline Sinn Heinold Fritz in LaCrosse, IN. She turned her life over to Christ and was baptized in October 1939. She was a faithful member of the Apostolic Christian Church for the rest of her life. She married Harvey Banwart on January 16, 1944 in LaCrosse, IN. After 9 months with her husband in Spokane, Washington, she was separated from Harvey until November of 1945 as he served in the Army in the Pacific. After farming in LaCrosse until 1979, they moved to Eureka, IL. Harvey passed away December 3, 1997. They had one son Jerry (Arlene) of Congerville, IL. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Peggy (Brian) Anliker of Belvidere, IL, Denise (Brian) Rokey of Sabetha, KS, Amy, Dale (Missy) and Lori Banwart, all of Congerville. Also surviving are 17 great-grandchildren, a brother Otto (Muriel) Fritz of LaCrosse, IN and a brother-in-law Lloyd (Sue) Banwart of Springfield, MO. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Charles and Aaron Heinold and Ralph Fritz, and 2 sisters Leona Heinold and Emma Luthi. There will be a visitation at the Gathering Room at the Goodfield Apostolic Christian Fellowship Hall (west entrance) on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:30 PM. There will also be a visitation on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Apostolic Christian Faith church in Congerville from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM with the funeral service following at 10:00 AM.
