Robert Williams

September 18, 1940 — February 8, 2021

Robert E. Williams, 80, of Chillicothe, IL joined his heavenly father at 17:34, Monday, February 8th, 2021, at the Richard Owens Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. He passed from complications of Lung cancer.
He was born on September 18, 1940, to Timothy and Dorthy (See) Williams in Chillicothe, IL. He attended Chillicothe schools and University of Virginia. He married Linda L. Coffey on June 15, 1963. Surviving are his wife, Linda of Chillicothe; 2 daughters, Lisa (Rich) Rose of Seabrook, TX, Tamra (Brett) Brisbin of Chillicothe, IL, one son, Dr. Timothy (Tiffani) Williams of Byron, IL; 11 grandchildren: Caleb, Joshua, Carissa, Jonny, Meagan, Mattie, Tucker, Owen, Ethan, Carter, Sadie; 2 great-grandsons, Hudson and Ryder; one sister Mary Magnuson of Apache Junction, AZ; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He loved all of his family very much.
Robert proudly served in the U.S. Navy and Navy reserve under the medical service corps. He had many accomplishments in the military to include participating in the commissioning ceremony of the nuclear aircraft carrier, USS Abraham Lincoln. A true patriot.
Following his military service he worked in healthcare administration retiring from Methodist Medical Center of Illinois as the Director of Medical-Legal Affairs after 30 yrs of service. He then served as the administrator of Heritage Manor nursing home in Chillicothe.
He had been a member of Chilli High Class of 1958, Navy Sea Cadets youth program, Northwoods Community Church, the American Association of Law and Medicine, Naval Association of Physician Assistants, American Red Cross, Aviation Disaster Committee, IVC school board, Chillicothe Optimist Club, Habitat for Humanity and board member of Heritage Manor nursing home.
He very much enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, wood working, military history, Bradley basketball, and perfecting his lawn
Cremation has been accorded and there will be a private service at Weber-Hurd funeral home officiated by Rev Terry Goode with burial of ashes to follow at Chillicothe Cemetery in the Spring, with military honors accorded.
