Robert Nyles Brown, age 82, of Chillicothe, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021 at his home in Chillicothe.
Bob was born on April 8, 1938 in Peoria, IL to Nyles Arthur and Dulcie Lucille (Bortell) Brown. He married Nancy Wallace on August 15, 1992 in Chillicothe.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy; his children, Bradley (Lori) Brown of Rockford, MI, Tracy (Hugo) Barahona of Katy, TX and Julie (Scott) Carnahan of Peoria, IL; 14 grandchildren, Lyndsay (Henry) Holmes, Adam Hardaway, Bradley and Katie Brown, Michael and Connor Bartling, Alex, Julissa and Eric Barahona, Jordan (Jim) Fitzgerald, Collin, Ethan, Sophie and Liam Carnahan; and 6 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his sister, Bonnie Kirkman of Glasford, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Douglas Brown.
Bob graduated from East Peoria High School in 1956 and attended Bradley University. He was an Insurance Agent for 55 years before he retired in 2017. He was a member of the Peoria Casting Club and the Elk Lodge of Deep Creek, FL. Bob enjoyed boating on the Illinois River, playing cards and was an avid Chicago sports fan. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and loved spending time with his family.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 10am at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe with Pastor Keith Lindgren officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 from 4pm to 6pm at the funeral home. Burial of ashes will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
