Rita Buck

Rita J. Buck, age 81, of Chillicothe, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

Rita was born on April 7, 1940 in St. Louis, MO to Nina Timmons.  She was raised by her mother and her loving stepfather, Eddie Timmons.

Surviving are her son, Jerry Buck of Tremont; her former daughter-in-law, Valerie Buck also of Tremont; her grandchildren, Stephanie and Tyler Buck; her sister, Nina Paul of Gladstone, MO; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; her mother and stepfather; one brother; one sister; and her son, William “Butch” Galbreath.

Rita worked for Caterpillar for 30 years when she retired.  She enjoyed antiquing and garage sales, yardwork and gardening and listening to music.  She was also an avid cat lover.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 11am at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe with visitation held one hour prior to the service.  Memorials in Rita’s name may be made to The ARK in Lacon or the OSF Richard L.
