Richard Meade

Richard N. Meade, 70, of Chillicothe passed away Wednesday morning May 16, 2018. Richard was born on February 26, 1948 in Evanston, IL to Stephen and Caroline (Nelson) Meade. He married Susan J. Mannahan on August 2, 1970 in Canton, IL. Richard is survived by his wife; two daughters, Carolyn (Tim) Papuga of Parkville, MO and Elizabeth (Cody) Sarenius of Chillicothe, IL; two grandchildren, Finley Papuga and Hogan Sarenius; three brothers, Stephen Meade of Gurnee, IL, Mike (Karen) Meade of Canton, IL and David (Rose) Meade of San Antonio, TX; and three sisters, Mary (Rod) Williamson of Avon,IL, Tracy (Darryl Talley) Meade of St. Louis, MO, Julia (David Thatcher) Meade of Dallas, TX. Richard was preceded in death by his parents. Richard was a teacher at Henry Grade School. He retired with over 30 years of teaching 4th and 6th grades. He also coached various teams throughout his tenure. Richard's passions included golf, college football, cigars, his front porch, and spending time with his grandchildren. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Peoria, IL. The visitation will be held two hours preceding the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Easter Seals of Peoria. Weber-Hurd Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.
