Raamah Leona Sprinkle, age 90, of Chillicothe, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Raamah was born on June 29, 1932 in Lomax, IL to Guy Clinton and Fannie Jane (Freeland) Sutton. She married John Wilford Sprinkle on August 6, 1950 in Chillicothe, IL. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2013. Also preceding her in death are her parents; her daughter-in-law, Sharon Sprinkle; her granddaughter, Christy Sprinkle; and her great-grandson, Scotty Sprinkle.
Surviving are her children, John E. (Sue) Sprinkle of Chillicothe, IL, Pat (Patti) Sprinkle of Prescott, AZ, and Mike Sprinkle of Denver, CO; six grandchildren, Carrie (Jason) Hill, John R. (Gretchen) Sprinkle, Jessica (Andy Burgoyne) Sprinkle, Sean (Heather) Sprinkle, Marty Sprinkle and Rachel Sprinkle; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and her brother, Howard (Carolyn) Sutton of Lomax, IL.
Raamah was a member of the Chillicothe First United Methodist Church and was very active in her church and the community. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels, the Love In Action Food Pantry, was a member of the Rebecca’s Circle and Pearce Community Center; and was the program director for their Senior Potluck. She was even a Volunteer of the Year award recipient from Pearce Community Center. Raamah enjoyed traveling, playing cards and spending time with her family, especially those grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would also like to thank the staff of OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home for their excellent care and compassion for Raamah.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe from 4pm to 6pm. A service will be held on Monday, November 14, 2022 at 11am also at the funeral home with visitation held one hour before. Burial of ashes will be at LaSalle Cemetery in Rome. Rev. Ron Martz and Rev. Edward Dutton will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Love In Action Food Pantry or Chillicothe First United Methodist Church.
