Patricia Ann Mathews

Patricia Ann Wassi Mathews, age 90, of Chillicothe, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022 at Heritage Health in Chillicothe.

Pat was born on December 29, 1931 in Pekin, Illinois to Benjamin and Ellen (Risinger) Wassi.  She married Burton D. Mathews on May 28, 1960 in Peoria and he preceded her in death on September 19, 2015.  Also preceding her in death are her parents; her son, Michael T. Mathews; her sister, Betty Vester and her brother, Joseph Wassi.

Surviving are her sons, Robert D. (Kathy Ard) Mathews, Dennis R. (Kim) Mathews and Ronald A. (Kim) Mathews; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her brother, George (Sandy) Wassi; her sister, Linda Burgard; and her sister-in-law, Delilah Wassi.

Pat was a CNA for Apostolic Christian Skylines for 32 years before she retired.  She loved spending time with her family and she enjoyed gardening.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 4pm to 7pm at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.  Burial of both Burton and Patricia’s ashes will be held at a later date at Chillicothe City Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Online condolences may be made through www.weberhurdfuneralhome.com
