Patricia A. Rutan

Patricia Ann Rutan, age 91, of Chillicothe, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at UnityPoint Health Proctor in Peoria.

Patricia was born on February 25, 1931 in Lafayette, Indiana to Frank and Leora (Earhart) Butz.  She married Charles William Rutan on May 25, 1952 in West Lafayette, Indiana.  He preceded her in death.  Also preceding her in death were her parents.

Surviving are her children, Lory (Jeff) Sigler of Frankfort, Indiana, Dawn Rutan of Michigantown, Indiana and Kent (Karen) Rutan of Chillicothe, Illinois; her grandchildren, Jenelle Young, Nicole (Aaron Kosdrosky) Morris, Megan (Matt) Snoke, Rachel (Tony) Ronco, Jake (Emily Anderson) Rutan and Libby (Alex Carranza) Rutan and seven great grandchildren.

Patricia was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also an animal and nature lover, teaching a love that survives in her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed crafts and was an avid reader. Patricia was a devoted member of New Life in Christ Church in Frankfort, Indiana and generously gave to dozens of Christian charities.

Cremation rites will be accorded and services will be held at a later date in Indiana.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to the Sycamore Audubon Society, PO Box 2716, West Lafayette, IN 47996 or to UnityPlace/Behavioral Health at https://www.unitypoint.org/peoria/foundation.aspx.  Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
