Nancy Johnson

Nancy Jo Johnson, age 76, of Chillicothe, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Nancy was born on March 3, 1945 in Princeville, IL to Robert Thomas and Eva Ella (Pritchard) Berchtold.  She married Alfred Johnson on December 29, 1962.  He preceded her in death on January 23, 2013.  Also preceding her in death are her parents and two brothers, Roger and Duane Berchtold.

Surviving are her children, Robert (Frieda) Johnson of Williamsfield, IL, Tamela (Bryan) Lloyd of Chillicothe, IL and Timothy (Carrie) Johnson of Eureka, IL; 11 grandchildren, Brooke Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Breanna (John) Block, Caleb Block, Cody (Rachel) Rogers, Noah Rogers, Macy Rogers, Erica (Donavon) Tinder, Jessica (Roy) Roper, Landon Johnson and Mary Johnson; 6 great-grandchildren; her brother, Ronald Berchtold of Chillicothe, IL and many nieces and nephews.

Nancy was a loving wife and mother.  She enjoyed flower gardening, bowling and visiting with her friends.  Most of all, she loved being a Nana and spending as time as she could with her grandchildren.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a graveside service will be held at Lawn Ridge Cemetery in the Spring.  Memorials in Nancy’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.  Online condolences may be made through www.weberhurdfuneralhome.com
