Michael Thomas

Michael Edward Thomas, age 68, of Sparland, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022 at his home.

Mike was born on February 2, 1954 in Peoria, IL to Edward Floyd and Betty Ann (Parker) Thomas.  He married Michaele E. Scott on July 2, 1988 in Peoria, IL. 

Surviving are his wife, Michaele; his children, John (Cassandra) Schlatter of Germantown Hills, IL, Christopher (Starr) Schlatter of Peoria, IL and Aubrey (James) Welch of Dunlap, IL; his grandchildren, Jacob, Kenny, Abigail, Logan, Christopher, Robert, Becca and Kaylea; and his great-grandson, Lincoln.  Also surviving is his sister, Shellie Small of Peoria.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mike enjoyed camping in the summer time and spending time with his family.  He loved animals, especially his dog, Rainy.  His ornery jokes will be missed by many.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 from 11:30am to 1:30pm at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe with interment of ashes at Parkview Mausoleum in Peoria following.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mike’s name may be made to Illinois Cancer Care.
