Michael Shane

Michael "Mick" J. Shane, 54, passed away at 10:46 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. Mick was born on October 1, 1962 in Peoria to P. Nelson and Charlotte Shane. He married Diane Gibson on May 25, 1996. Also surviving are three children, Megan, Nathan, and Noah Shane; four sisters, Roselynn (Gary) Metcalf, Anita (Marvin) Waldschmidt, Paula Shane, and Martha (Dave) Art; five brothers, Garwin (Tena) Shane, Glen (Vicki) Shane, Jim (Kathy) Shane, Leon (Cindy) Shane, and Marty Shane; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mick worked for Meister-Shane LTD for 35 years. He was a talented craftsman both in his profession and in his hobby of woodworking, making many handcrafted gifts and heirlooms for his friends and family. A funeral will be held for Mick at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe. Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation with the family from 5:00-7:00 p.m. the evening prior at the Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Burial will be at Chillicothe City Cemetery.
