Michael J. Kenyon

Michael James Kenyon, age 42, of Chillicothe, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 in rural Chillicothe.

Mike was born on June 3, 1980 in Peoria, IL to James B. and Jeanette (Wilkinson) Kenyon.

Surviving are his son, Aidan Kenyon of London Mills, IL; his mother, Jeanette Wilkinson of Macomb, IL; his sisters, Jodie (Doug) Goard of Varna, IL and Jamie (Matt) McClure of Macomb, IL; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, James; and both his paternal and maternal grandparents.

After high school, Mike served in the U.S. Air Force for 6 years and then served in the Air National Guard.  While in the military, Mike was a Flight Engineer for C-130s and was a Crew Chief for F-16s.  He was a fantastic mechanic and had been working with tools, alongside his dad, since he was old enough to walk.  Mike not only loved mechanics but loved riding anything with wheels that went fast.  He rode ATVS, Go-Carts, snowmobiles and motorcycles.  He also enjoyed snowboarding and fishing.  He also worked for over 10 years at Lockheed Martin Corp. 

Cremation rites will be accorded and a private burial of ashes with military honors will be at LaPrairie United Presbyterian Cemetery.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022 from 5pm to 7pm at Shore Acres.  Memorials may be made to the family for his son’s education.  Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
