Merle Klein

Merle F. Klein, 90, of Chillicothe passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at his home. Merle was born on October 15, 1926 in Henry the son of Fred and Grace (Mabach) Klein. He married Mary Lynn Ahlstrom on February 10, 1948 in Lacon. Surviving are his wife, Mary L. Klein of Chillicothe; daughter, Cheryl (Barry) Wiessner of Mesa AZ; two sons, John (Lori) Klein of Henry and Scott (Kristie) Klein of Speer; eight grandchildren: Monica, Joshua, Sarah, Katie, Tiffany, Hannah, Daniel, and Ann; and fourteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers. Merle was a power lineman for CILCO for 31 years before he retired. Merle and his wife would travel to Casa Grande Arizona during the winters, where Merle played the violin for the Desert County Musicians. Living along the river he enjoyed fishing. He liked spending time with his many grandchildren. He helped his son, Scott, with renovations of several homes in the area. Friends and relatives are invited to a funeral ceremony for Merle on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 11:00 am at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 5-7:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Chillicothe City Cemetery.
