Maxine Thelma Kenyon

Maxine Thelma Kenyon, age 84, of Lacon, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Lacon Rehab and Nursing Home.

Maxine was born on July 31, 1938 in Sparland, IL to Arthur and Lula (Rickey) Dawson.  She married John Robert Kenyon on May 23, 1953 in Sparland, IL and he preceded her in death on September 26, 2020.  They were married for 67 years.  Also preceding her in death are her parents; her son, Rickey Kenyon; and her two brothers, Wayne and Merle Dawson.

Surviving are her daughter, Vickie (Joseph) Shover of Low Point, IL; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her sister, Betty Kelly of Sparland, IL.

Maxine was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She helped John run Kenyon’s Orchard for many years.  When she wasn’t helping with the orchard, she cleaned houses.  She also enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling with John.

Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and burial of ashes will be held at Chillicothe City Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
