Max Trumbold

June 14, 1947 — August 24, 2021

Max E. Trumbold, age 74, of Chillicothe, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Lacon Rehab and Nursing.

A loving son, brother, cousin and friend, Max grew up living a very simple life.  He attended school here in Chillicothe and he was very proud of his father, Russ, who worked many years on the railroad.  He visited his dad at work whenever he could and enjoyed seeing the trains and the work his dad did.  He also loved the family dinners his mom, Jeanette, would make for him, his sister, Penny, and Russ.  Max served a full tour in Germany for the U.S. Army during Vietnam where he was honorably discharged.  When he came home, he worked for Caterpillar making electronic parts until he retired.

Once grown, Max and his dad enjoyed lots of friendly competition on the golf course and he became quite an avid golfer.  After his parents passed away, Max continued to live in the family home where he made digital clocks from scratch and designed and carved things out of wood including lamps and desks among other things.  Max also had a soft spot for all the stray cats around his home and there was no length he wouldn’t go in order to nurse one of them to health.  He continued to enjoy old-fashioned home cooked meals, especially Christmas and Thanksgiving feasts, target practice and sighting in his firearms.  These are great memories that will be held onto for many years.

Cremation rites will be accorded and there will be no services at this time.  Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Online condolences may be made through www.weberhurdfuneralhome.com
