Marjorie Smith

Marjorie Ruby Smith, age 106, of Chillicothe, passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Heritage Health in Chillicothe.

Marjorie was born on February 18, 1915 in Streator, Illinois to Lewis and Hattie (Pervan) Talbert.  She married Owen A. Smith on July 28, 1933.  He preceded her in death.  Also preceding her in death are her parents; her eight siblings; her daughter, Patricia Jones; and her grandson, Marcus Smith.

Surviving are her son, Robert Smith; her grandchildren, Scott (Annette) Jones, Candy Nelton and Michelle (Tom) Dean; eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Marjorie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She was a seamstress and she enjoyed crafting and gardening.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 11am at Prospect Cemetery in Dunlap.  Memorials in Marjorie’s name may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.  Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.  Online condolences may be made through www.weberhurdfuneralhome.com
