Marjorie Lynn Krause

Marjorie Lynn Krause, age 72, of Peoria, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria.

Lynn was born on October 14, 1950 in Peoria, IL to Robert Edward and Veronica Elizabeth (Gutscher) Butler.  She married Marvin Krause on January 13, 1973 in Peoria.

Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Marvin; her sons, Tim (Jennifer) Krause of Peoria, IL and Dan (Shanna) Krause of Naples, FL; her grandchildren, T.J., Tyler and Josie Krause and James and Elizabeth Wolfe; her mother, Veronica; her brother, Robert (Rhonda) Butler of Peoria, IL; her sister, Debra (Larry) Meyer of South Carolina; and her niece and nephew, Amanda and Anthony.  She was preceded in death by her father.

Lynn worked on the family farm for many years alongside her husband while raising their two boys. During that time, they sold produce and flowers at the farmer’s market in Peoria. She also took on working as a supplemental at Mitsubishi Motors.  Once retiring from the farm life, she eagerly accepted the position of full-time Gramma.  She thoroughly enjoyed attending her grandkids’ events, rooting for her Chicago Cubs and taking family vacations to Disney World.  If she wasn’t out and about shopping for a deal, lunching with her friends, or in the garden, you could find her in the kitchen.  Her family looked forward to homemade pizza nights and she could be counted on to bring the pie for any holiday or celebration. She supported her family with pride and unwavering love and was a friend to all who knew her.

Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 4th from 1:00-4:00 pm at Shore Acres Park Clubhouse at 100 Park Boulevard, Chillicothe, IL 61523.  Memorials in her name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.  Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
