Marilyn K. Scarbrough, 71, of Chillicothe passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at her home. Born April 27, 1945 in Mt. Vernon, IL to Edward (Eddie) and Bernadine (Beanie) Montague. In 1962, she married Okla Scarbrough of Orchardville, IL. where they farmed with his parents, Leslie and Inez. They had three daughters: Michelle (Robin) Rollo of Elyria, OH, Cindy (Berry) Johnson of Galveston, TX, and Angie (Mark) Richmond of Brimfield, IL. Marilyn was a very loving and caring mother. She loved sewing new dresses for her daughters, teaching them to cook (like her big Sunday dinners), farm life and hard work. She enjoyed reading, traveling, gardening, crafting, and caring for her plants and fish. She loved decorating her home in a way that displayed her passion for animals, beaches, and adventure. Marilyn had a great sense of humor and enjoyed laughing and being with friends - often the life of the party! Marilyn loved spending time with her twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. She enjoyed working puzzles, watching movies, sharing stories, and making treats with them. Marilyn had a strong Christian faith. Even when her health failed, she was still very grateful for her life, her family, and her blessings. She passed, just as she hoped, in her home surrounded by her loved ones. It was her wish to forego funeral services and be remembered in life.
