Marguerite Cheney, 91, lifetime resident of Chillicothe, died Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Morton Terrace HRC in Morton.
Marguerite was born February 7, 1924 in Chillicothe, the daughter of Elmer (Ike) Wilcox and Lillian Smith. She later married Russell B. Cheney on March 30, 1940 in Lawn Ridge.
Surviving are: two sons, Dennis (Jean) Cheney of Clark Hills, IN and Terry (Becci) Cheney of Chillicothe; one daughter-in-law, Evon (Len) Campbell of Victoria, Australia; seven grandchildren, Constance (Dennis) McCarthy, Jennifer (Mike) Swanson, Christopher (Meleia) Cheney, Justin Cheney, Stefanie (Nick) Hedden, Tierney (Daniel) Smithers, and Traig (Megan) Cheney; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Russell E. Cheney, granddaughter Chastity Hickey, and two sisters, Ethel Mae Maxson and Pauline Ferguson.
Marguerite worked for over twenty years at the St. Joseph Nursing Home in Lacon.
She was a member of the Chillicothe First United Methodist Church.
Marguerite's hobbies were gardening and cooking.
Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation Wednesday evening, January 27, 2016 from 5:00-7:00pm at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor's choice of charity.
