Margaret Vinson, 87, of 1524 N Logan St., Chillicothe, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 10:03 am, at her residence.
Born May 2, 1928 in Chillicothe, Illinois the daughter of Nicholas and Eleuteria Ramos, Margaret married Everett Vinson on February 2, 1952 in Chillicothe, Illinois.
Margaret is survived by: four daughters, Yvonne Carmack, Deby (Tim) McVeitty, Brenda (Tim) Griffis all of Chillicothe, and Liz (Eric) Wenger, of Henry; five sons, Chris (Cheryl) Vinson of Scottsdale, AZ, James (Holly) Vinson, Ronald Vinson, Bruce (Katie) Vinson, and Joe Vinson, all of Chillicothe; twenty-four grandchildren, Leslie, Nicholas, Michael, Jason, Christopher, Jacob, Michelle, Timothy, Sydney, Brandon, Jim, Casey, Gabi, Chad, Jeff, Sarah, Rachel, Kylie, Butch, Quaid, Chelsea, McKenna, Ivy, and Joey; and twenty great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Vinson, one son, one sister, one brother, and three grandchildren.
She was employed at Bemis Co. before settling down and starting a family. She then worked at Methodist Hospital for 25 years, once all the kids were old enough to start school.
Margaret was big hearted, loving mother and grandmother that truly enjoyed the company of her family and friends and lived her life to the fullest.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 21, 2015 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe. Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation at the church one hour prior to the service.
Donations on Margaret's behalf may be made to The Center for Prevention of Abuse in Peoria, Saint Edward Crisis Food Pantry in Chillicothe, and the South Side Mission in Peoria.
