Larry Alan Cook, age 73, of Chillicothe, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at home surrounded by his family.
Larry was born on October 4, 1949 in Peoria, Illinois to Marshall Field Willard and Delores Mae (Brown) Cook. He married Theresa Frances Razo on September 20, 1975 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Theresa; their children, Joseph (Erin) Cook of Holly Springs, NC, Suzanne (Tim) Weldon of Metamora, IL, Steven Cook of Chillicothe, IL and Kathleen Cook of Chillicothe, IL; eight grandchildren, Zoe, Marshall and Sawyer Cook, Lyla, Brody and Riggins Weldon, and Jasper and Evelyn Cook. Also surviving is his sister, Lori (Ron) Stryker of Chillicothe, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Larry served as a Seaman in U.S. Navy and then worked for Bemis for 33 years when he retired. He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church, Valley Indians and the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed photography, playing dartball, walking the trails in the woods near their home, traveling to Hawaii and building his log home. He was also a lover of music; he played the guitar and enjoyed going to rock concerts. Family was important to Larry and he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 11am at St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 5pm to 7pm at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe with recitation of the Rosary at 7pm. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Because of his love of music, memorials may be made to the IVC Band Boosters.
