Kenneth Allen McCasky of Harvey, Louisiana, formerly of Chillicothe and Tremont, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly at work on Tuesday, April 4, in Marrero, Louisiana.
He was born on December 28, 1962, in Peoria, Illinois, to Richard Allen and Christina F. (Kapraun) McCasky.
Surviving are his mother of Chillicothe; three brothers Lawrence and William of Chillicothe, Illinois, and Dale (Natalie) of Strawn, Illinois; one sister, Karla (Carl) Wilbur of Brimfield, Illinois; nephews Derek (Janett) McCasky and Adam Estes; nieces Briana Estes, Rachel McCasky and Mariah McCasky; four great nieces and nephews; and three cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father and his niece Celine Estes.
Ken started his career as an engineer for several companies, including Louisiana Machinery, but went on to become a self-employed contractor. He was known for his vast knowledge and ability to make or repair anything, quality remodeling skills, and his generosity with his time and talents.
He especially appreciated the friendships of Roger Trudeau, Kay Weeks and Roxie Lang.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Chillicothe with a visitation one hour prior. Rite of Committal will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Henry, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to St. Edward’s Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Illinois, for Mass Intentions or to the American Heart Association.
