Joyce Iadipaolo

Joyce A. DeWet Iadipaolo, age 80, of Peoria, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at UnityPoint Methodist Medical Center in Peoria at 9:00 PM. She was born to Frank and Bernice (Harris) Anderson on November 26, 1936 in Peoria. Joyce graduated from Manual Training School in 1954 and then attended Palmer College as an X-ray student in Davenport, IA where she met Dr. Steven DeWet. They were married in 1957 in Davenport, and he preceded her in death on April 17, 1989. She later married Samuel A. Iadipaolo on April 17, 1994 in Pretoria, South Africa. She is survived by her husband Samuel of Peoria; children, Pieter DeWet of Tyler, TX, and Steven DeWet of South Africa; step-children, Vincent (Sandra) Iadipaolo of Dunlap, Adam (Kate) Iadipaolo of Taylormill, KY, and Alexander (Jo Anna) Iadipaolo of Miami Beach, FL; 11 grandchildren; brother, Ron Anderson of Peoria; and sister, Gail (Keith) Hacker of Bartonville. Joyce's beloved dogs Toby and Charlie will miss her very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Steven DeWet, and daughter Renee Brits. Joyce was a homemaker, a foster parent for 20 years, worked for the Children's Home for 10 years, and worked with the disabled at Illinois Mentor Company. She taught Sunday School and was the lead violin player for the Praise and Worship team at her church, Maranatha (Come Lord Jesus) Fellowship Church. She taught English as a second language and loved working with children. A memorial service for Joyce will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Cumerford-Hurd Funeral Home in Peoria. Pastor Edwin Misigaro will officiate. Burial will be held at Trivoli Cemetery at a later date. Revelations 21:4 says "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." Memorial donations in honor of Joyce may be made to Maranatha Fellowship Missions or PCAPS.
