Joyce Hoffman

Joyce L. Hoffman, 73, of Chillicothe passed away on Sunday May 29, 2022 at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL.

Joyce was born on June 12, 1948 in Streator, IL to John and Anna (Wargo) Hayes. She married Jay Hoffman on July 19, 1971 in Ottawa, IL.  He survives.  Also surviving are her children Amy (partner Jason) Rozner of Herculaneum, MO and Jay (Shawnah) Hoffman of Milwaukee, WI; two sisters and one brother Janice (Andrew) Majercin and JoAnn Hayes, both of Streator IL and Allan (Evelyn) Hayes of Jefferson OR; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Hayes, and sisters June, Donna, Nancy, Ada, Letha, and Virginia.

Joyce was a homemaker and a master award-winning gardener having been recognized by the Chillicothe Shademakers Award in 2014. She loved designing her gardens, personally laying them out brick by brick, stone by stone, plant by plant . . . an on-going ever-changing project she found very rewarding. She also loved animals, crafting, painting, and collectibles.

Joyce requested cremation with no services.  Weber-Hurd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Per the wishes of the family, in lieu of services/flowers, donations to the Richard L Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL would be appreciated.
