John Shipla

John Mathew Shipla, age 53, passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in his home. John was born on September 14th, 1964 in Peoria, Illinois to Joseph Shipla and Mary Jane Prentiss. He graduated from IVC High School and aviation classes at Illinois Central College. He lasted worked for Global Security Services. John is survived by his wife Kelly, his children: John, 23, Joe, 20, and Rebecca, 19 and sister, Gail Wadi. John was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing and hunting along with working outside. John was always willing to help and could repair anything with ease. He was a devoted father and enjoyed spending time with his kids and nephews. Anyone who knew him would say he was fun loving and always wanted to make others smile. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 2-4:00 pm at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Burial will be held at Blue Ridge Cemetery. We are asking for memorial donations to be on behalf of John to Take a Vet Fishing.
