Jesus Valadez

August 14, 1922 — August 3, 2020

With heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing our father, Jesus Ezequiel Valadez, who was born on August 14, 1922, in Maldowe, Texas. Our father was 97 years old when he went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Monday, August 3rd, 2020, in Washington, Illinois.

Dad married Guadalupe Domínguez Cedillo† in1942 and had 12 children: Bertha E., María Luisa, Fernando R †., Carlos, Gustavo R., Alejandro R., Elia Gpe., Rolando R., Juan, Cecilia M., Adrian M., and Luis Alberto. Together with them, a son in law Tomas Niño, daughters in law, Guillermina, Enriqueta, Ana María, Ruth Lilly, and Janet, his 39 grandkids, 50 great grandkids, and 15 great grandkids also mourn his absence.

Dad survived his parents José S.† & Luisa Valadez †, his stepfather Abelino Garcia †, his bothers Antonio † & Manuel † Garcia, his son Fernando Raul † and three sons-in-law: Herlindo Herrera †, Alfonso Gutiérrez † & Elpidio Sandoval †.

Father's love of reading transformed him into a cultured and self-taught person despite having only had an Elementary education. Dad learned many diverse trades and occupations from an incredibly young age. He bravely faced The Great Depression as an orphan child under the care of his maternal grandparents. One of his proudest accomplishments was participating in the construction of the Astrodome roof, which was one of his first jobs in Houston, Texas where he lived for more than 40 years before moving to Illinois. His co-workers lovingly nicknamed him "Jesse" and his childhood friends called him "Valita."

His smile shall be remembered by many people, but his anecdotes, jokes, charisma, beautiful penmanship, and melodious whistling, shall forever echo in his family's hearts. Our father now rests in peace with our Lord, but his legacy shall be perpetuated in each one of his children and his loving descendants. ¡Until we meet again!

A Private Family Memorial Service shall take place at First United Methodist Church, Peoria Illinois to celebrate his life, on Friday the 14th (which was to be his 98th birthday). The service is going to be officiated by his children Rev. Luis A. Garcia y Rev. Elia Gpe. Sandoval.

"Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his faithful servants." Psalms 116:15

Luis A. Garcia y Rev. Elia Gpe. Sandoval.
