Jean Pence

Jean C. Pence, age 91, of Chillicothe passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.

He was born on December 19, 1923 in Peoria to Oscar and Adaline Pence. He married Goldie Irene Steudler Gamble in Peoria in February of 1954. She preceded him in death in1982.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and brothers.

Jean is survived by his stepson Richard (Dee) Gamble of Chillicothe; numerous nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren; and his caretaker and friend, Bonnie Bridgeman of Chillicothe.

Jean was in the Coast Guard during WWII, and was later a truck driver for Dohrn. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

Jean's wish was to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at his home on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 11:00am-1:00pm.
