Jean Fraser

Jean Fraser passed away peacefully on October 26, 2017 at home surrounded by her family after a long illness. Jean was born Feb. 17, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA to William and Gladys Cairnie. She moved to Ottawa, Canada as a child. There she met Andrew (Andy) Fraser in Sunday school, who later became the love of her life. They were married in December 1946 and lived in New Brunswick while Andrew finished college at the University of New Brunswick. They moved to Antigonish, Nova Scotia where Andrew had his first job. That was just the beginning of their adventures. From there, they have lived in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Toronto, Ontario, Melbourne, Australia, Cape Elizabeth, Maine, Slovakia, and finally settled in Peoria, Illinois. After Andrew retired they continued to travel. While in Peoria, Jean was active in many golf and social leagues around the city. Jean had a passion for playing golf and bridge. Jean is survived by her husband, Andrew; her daughters, Nancy (Eric) Hughes of Vermont, Laurie (Stan) Knobloch of Peoria, and Bruce (Debbie) Fraser Gorham, Maine; along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
