James W. McCumber, 93, of Peoria passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Washington Christian Village in Washington.    He was born on July 1, 1925 in Lewiston the son of Donald W. and Blanche (Beadles) McCumber.  He married Betty J. Burger on Sept 15, 1945 in Peoria Heights.    Surviving are his wife, Betty J. McCumber of Washington; two sons, Jim (Mary) McCumber of Germantown Hills and Tom (Maria) McCumber of Salt Lake City, UT; three grandchildren, Jamie (Rusty) Kenyon of Germantown Hills, Kevin McCumber of Washington, DC, and Tim (Joan) McCumber of Metamora; two great grandchildren, Haley and Ryan Kenyon; brother, Joe (Anne) McCumber of Peoria; and a sister Elaine (Ben) Siebenthal of Edwards.  He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.    James was a member of the Grandview Masonic Lodge 1112; Mohammed Shriners, Bartonville, where he was a member of the Legion of Honor, TNT, and Senior Nobles. He was also a driver for the Hospital Van; and  the Valley of Peoria Scottish Rite.      He was employed by Sealtest picking up and delivering milk from farmers.  Then went on to work as a truck driver as a member of the local teamsters.  After retirement, went to work at DA Heorr & Sons mowing sod fields.     James loved to travel in his motorhome, he also loved to fish, golf and bowl.    A funeral service will be held on Friday afternoon, November 30, 2018 at 2:00 pm the Peoria Heights Congregational Church.  Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service time at the church with Masonic Service.  Burial will be held at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.  Memorials may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital.  James online memorial website may be viewed at cumerford.com
