James G. Kelley, 78, of Rome passed away in Lacon at St. Joseph Nursing Home in Lacon. James was born on August 22, 1939 in Pekin the son of Glenn and Ada (Logsdon) Kelley. He married Judy Pearson on July 9, 1961 in Galva. He is survived by his wife, Judy Kelley of Rome; two daughters, Julie (Bob) Blume of East Peoria and Shannon (Shannon) Kelley-Curry of Springfield, MO; Grandchildren, Cody Brown, Colton Kraft, Jacob Kelley, and Ashleigh Kelley; and a daughter-in-law, Nicole Kelley of Tremont. He preceded death by his parents and his step-father, Bud. James was a Computer system Analysis-Inspector in Mossville for Catpiller, Inc. for thirty-one years. He was an avid hunter, a member of the Chillicothe Sportsmen Club and NRA. He also like NASCAR. James was also a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Chillicothe. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Chillicothe. Pastor Linda Strader will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time at the church. Memorials may be made to his church, St. Mark Lutheran Church.
