James Ladd

James I. Ladd, 73, of Chillicothe passed away Thursday, May 28 at Heritage Health Care in Chillicothe. James was born on September 8, 1941 in Peoria, the son of Harold and JoAnn (Shepard) Ladd.

Surviving are his two daughters, Shana (Justin) Blanch of Pekin and Susan (Chris) Rees of Quincy; four grandchildren, Sophie Blanch, Daphnie Blanch, Cameron Rees, and Courtney Rees; brother, Bill (Ruth) Ladd of Chillicothe; sister,
Janet Howald of Peoria Heights; niece, Abbie (Ken) Swanson; great niece, Kinleigh Swanson; and his special friend, Lois Varvil. he was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.

James was a semi-trailer truck driver throughout his life. He also own and operated JL Inspection Services in Chillicothe where he worked as a building inspector. He enjoyed watching movies, making people laugh and being around his grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman.

James was a Ballistic Missile Maintenance Technician in the U.S. Army

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Blue Ridge Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service time at the church. Rev. Ron Martz will officiate. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Heritage Health Care Center, Chillicothe.
