James Gurnsey

James Boyd Gurnsey, 62, of Chillicothe, passed away at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria on May 20, 2015.
He was born on December 10, 1952 to Eldon Lee and Joyce Hermalee (Haage) Gurnsey in Springfield. His wife, Marcella Gurnsey, survives him.
James is survived by four children, Fawn Briggerman of Chillicothe, Renee Crew of Colorado Springs, CO, Angel (Rich) Smith of Dunlap, and Jim Gurnsey of Colorado Springs, CO; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Roland (Linda) Gurnsey and Eldon (Kim) Gurnsey. He was preceded in death by his parents.
James earned an Associate's Degree and worked at Caterpillar as a machine repairman. He retired on July 1, 2007. James also enjoyed shooting his guns, fishing, and hunting.
A funeral service for James will be held at 6:00pm on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home, 1107 N. 4th St. in Chillicothe. Pastor Chase Fisher will officiate. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service time at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.
Memorial donations in honor of James may be made to Chillicothe Sportmen's Club.
