Gwen Kirchner

Gwen O. Kirchner, 80, of Edelstein passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. The family plans a private service. Gwen's online memorial website may be viewed at www.weberhurdfuneralhome.com. Gwen was born April 25, 1936, in East St. Louis to Oliver M. and Grace E. (Haller) Kirchner. He married June Prengel on September 25, 1954, in Granite City. She survives him, along with two sons, Eric (Robin Magyar) Kirchner of California and Scott (Terri) Kirchner and their children, Seth and Aaron of Chillicothe. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David; and sisters, Mary Elizabeth and Mary Ann. Gwen retired in 1999 from Caterpillar, Inc. after 33 years of service. He was well known for his kind and generous spirit and his infectious sense of humor. The family wishes to recognize the kind and loving care provided to Gwen and his loved ones by the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice home. The doctors and nurses there are very special to us. Memorials may be sent to the Weber-Hurd Funeral Home, P.O.
