Gilberto P. "Robert" Rodriguez, 67, of Chillicothe passed away on Thursday morning, May 21, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Robert was born on June 28, 1947 in San Miguel Epejan, Mexico the son of Gilberto and Justina (Perez) Rodriguez. He married Silvia Ferrer on June 12, 1976 in San Miguel Epejan, Mexico.
Robert is survived by his wife; children: Ricardo Rodriguez of Los Angeles, CA, Justina (Jamie) White of Chapin SC, Gilberto Rodriguez of Los Angeles, CA, and Bettye (Jeremy) Rader of Chillicothe; four grandchildren: Logan White, Addyson White, Isabella Rader, and Graciela Rader; and his brothers and sisters, Ranulfo, Moises, Josefa and Ceclia. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Robert worked for over twenty years at JT Fennell Company in Chillicothe. He was a member of Pearce Community Center and St. Edward Catholic Church.
Robert always enjoyed buying things for his grandchildren, he liked being around them and could never say "no" to them. He lived through them. He enjoyed gardening around the house and loved flowers. He often could be seen walking around indoors at Krogers getting his exercise and talking to people. His family and friends say that he was a friendly and giving person.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. A recitation of the rosary will follow. A funeral mass will be conduct by Fr. Keith Walder on Thursday at 11:00 am at St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe. Interment will is to follow at Chillicothe City Cemetery in Chillicothe. Memorials may be made in memory of Robert to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria or to Peoria City Lift.
