Garth Boyer III

Garth "Garty" Boyer III, 43, of Morton passed away on April 5, 2016 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. Garth was born on May 26, 1972. He is survived by his parents; Richard and Judi Gentry of Peoria, brothers; Chris Yerke (Milena) of San Francisco, CA, and Richard J Gentry (Zoe) of Denver CO, sister, Julia Ayers of Manhattan Beach, CA, and beloved godfather, John Condon of Aurora, IL. He is preceded in death by his sister Michelle Yerke.

Garty had a rich life filled with experiences, accomplishment and love. His family never felt burdened by having an intellectually disabled brother or son, their lives were enriched by his charming and quirky personality. "Garty brought out the best in us. No matter what other people might think, he was not a punishment, a mistake, or a burden. He was a gift. His capacity for unconditional love and forgiveness was a model for us all. He was perfect just as he was."

A Celebration of life for Garty will be held at a later date.

Memorials in honor of Garty may be made to EPIC of Peoria or to the Apostolic Christian Home for the Handicapped of Morton.
