Gail Grose

Gail Louise Grose, age 69, of Chillicothe, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Gail was born on November 21, 1952 in Hammond, Indiana to Vernon and Jeane (Parker) Skogan.  She was married to David Grose whom preceded her in death in May of 2012.  Also preceding her in death are her parents.

Surviving are her children, Chris (Anita) Grose and Kathryn Grose Ackley, both of Chillicothe; her grandchildren, Aiden Grose, Joshua, Brittany and Brianna Ackley, and Abigail and Alexis Pyatt; and her siblings, Janet Roemer, Lynda (Dave) Cook and Wesley (Barbara) Skogan.

Gail had her Master’s Degree and was teacher for many years.  She was quite the track and field athlete, even qualifying for the Olympic team.  Gail was also an Ombudsman for the Navy while her husband served.

Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and burial of ashes will be alongside her husband at Fort Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida.  Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
