Frances Maxine Burton, 101, of Washington formerly of Chillicothe died on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Washington Christian Village.
Frances was born on February 16, 1915 in Princeville, IL the daughter of Frank and Maude (Potts) Sloan. She married Omer Burton on April 10, 1937 in Princeton, IL.
Surviving are Melvin (Celinda) Burton of Sand Spring, OK, Stanley (Norma Murray) Burton of Dahinda, Barbara Bleichner (Charles Tonning) of East Peoria; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren. She was prceded in death by her parents and husband.
Frances graduated from Princeville High School. She had worked for the Canning Factory and L.R. Nelson Sprinkler Company in Princeville, and as a bookkeeper for her husband at Burton's Auto Sales in Chillicothe. Frances enjoyed collecting teapots, quilting, and spending time with her family.
Frances attended the First United Methodist Church in Chillicothe where she was active with the Rebecca Circle.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday March 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Rev. Danita Parra will be officiating the service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the Chillicothe City Cemetery.
