Floyd Dunbar

Floyd D. Dunbar, age 82, of Chillicothe, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021 at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria.

Floyd was born on June 18, 1938 in Peoria, Illinois to Oscar and Mildred (Wishall) Dunbar.  He married his best friend, Sandra K. Lauber, on June 17, 1966 in Chillicothe.

Surviving are his wife, Sandy; his children, Bobbi (Eric Halverson) Piles of Canton, IL, Dee Ann (Denis) Hamucken of Lee, NH, and James (Trisha Renken) Dunbar of East Peoria, IL; eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Floyd served in the U.S. Air Force.  He then worked for Caterpillar for 30 years, retiring in 2001.  Floyd was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 11:00am at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe with visitation held a half hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Edward Catholic Church.
