Evelyn Stedman

Evelyn Stedman, age 97, of Chillicothe, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Evergreen Place in Chillicothe. Evelyn was born on October 31, 1921 in Peoria, IL to Lewis and Ruth (Williams) Barker.  She married Darrell Stedman on November 18, 1944 in Chillicothe.  He preceded her in death on February 28, 2002.  Also preceding her in death is her brother, Amos Barker. Surviving are her sons, Don (Mila) Stedman of Brimfield, IL and Mike (Nancy) Stedman of Lace Placid, FL; six grandchildren; three great -grandchildren; and her brother, Robert (Zoe) Barker. Evelyn worked for JC Penney.  She was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church.  She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, volunteer for Pearce Community Center, and volunteer and van driver for the American Red Cross. Evelyn was an avid bowler, card player, golfer and she loved to travel. Cremation rites will be accorded and memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 2pm at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service also at the funeral home.  Rev. Lauren Padgett will be officiating.  Burial of ashes will be at Chillicothe City Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Pearce Community Center.
