Elsie Loring

Elsie I. Price, 92, of Springfield, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 9:30 pm. Elsie was born on March 7, 1928 in Christopher, Illinois the daughter of Clarence and Gladys (Fowler) Vineyard. She married Joe W. Price on January 13, 1951. He preceded her in death in July, 1973. Surviving are her children: Judy (Allen) Luttrell of Springfield, David (Debbie) Price of Chillicothe and Tom (Julie) Price of Eureka; eight grandchildren: Anthony Luttrell, Mark Luttrell, Travis Price, Lindsey Roe, Danny Price, Stephanie Price, Dylan Price and Brian Martin; three great grandchildren: Julian Roe, Blake and Bradley Price; one sister Esther (Norval) Brownlee of Sebring, FL; and three nephews, Mark, Marshal, and John Gage. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Elsie liked singing in the choir in several different churches to which she belonged throughout her life. She also enjoyed spending time with friends, and especially playing cards with them. She always liked going to ball games to watch her sons, David and Tom, play and she enjoyed going to concerts to see her daughter, Judy to perform. Mostly Elsie enjoyed being a good wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed greatly by all her family and friends. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 11:00 am at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home. Mike Harney will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Chillicothe City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
