Edward Gorman

Edward J. Gorman, age 65, of Chillicothe, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at his home after a short, but courageous battle with cancer.

Ed was born on April 26, 1957 to the late James Andrew and Kathleen Marie (Coric) Gorman.  He leaves behind many friends.

After graduating from St. Edward Catholic School and IVC High School, Ed became a proud member of the Carpenters Union, and was skilled as a carpenter and a millwright. Although his skills led him to projects not only in the Peoria area but around the country, he was always happiest back home. He was always quick to help a friend or neighbor who needed his assistance or a tool! 

His favorite sport was baseball, and when his playing days were over, he coached little league for many years, teaching the love for the game to the next generation. He also coached basketball at St. Edwards. He was a diehard Cub fan and enjoyed watching a game with friends or family.  He loved bird hunting of all kinds and was happiest in a duck blind with friends and his black lab, Dee. He also loved a round of golf with his buddies.

Ed was a kind and generous soul, who will be missed by many.  Donations may be made to St. Edwards School or Chillicothe Little League Association.

Cremation rites were accorded and a graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 11am at Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria.  Following the graveside service, there will be a Celebration of Life at Marge’s Tavern in Chillicothe at 1pm.
