Dorrita Hoye

Dorrita “Dorie” May Hoye, age 86, of Chillicothe, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Henry Rehab and Nursing.

Dorie was born on June 27, 1935 in Peoria, IL to Albert E. and Doris M. (Simmons) Hakes.

Surviving are her children, Michelene (Rick) Hurley of Dodge City, KS, Bill Hoye of Chillicothe and Donna (Barry) Sarver of Chillicothe; 6 grandchildren, including Jordan (Sasha) Sarver who welcomed her into their home and cared for her over the past two years; many great-grandchildren; her sisters, Sandra Lootens of Buda, IL and Donelda Shaffer of Arizona; and several loving nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, three sisters; and one granddaughter.

Dorie worked for Champion Furnace Pipe Company in Peoria for 31 years when she retired.

Per Dorie’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and there will be no services.  Memorials in Dorie's name may be made to Hospice Compassus or to Henry Rehab and Nursing.  Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.  Online condolences may be made through www.weberhurdfuneralhome.com
