Dorothy McEvoy

Dorothy Joan McEvoy, 88, of Peoria passed away on April 9, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born on October 20, 1928 in Peoria the daughter of Bernard and Mildred (VanAusdall) Demmin. She married Charles D. McEvoy on March 6, 1948 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on August 31, 2001. Surviving are her children: Tim (Lynn) McEvoy of Palm Harbor, FL, Richard McEvoy of Peoria, Tom McEvoy of Peoria Heights, Laurie Keegan of Peoria; six grandchildren: Jeff McEvoy, Eric McEvoy, Ryan McEvoy, Sarah Simkins, Jake Brownell and Michelle Jones; four great grandchildren; and one sister, Shirlee Williams of Peoria. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Don Demmin. She was an avid doll collector especially Barbie. She enjoyed her search for treasures at sales and auctions. Most of all she loved her family and will be greatly missed by them. Friends and relatives are invited to a funeral service on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 11:00 am at Cumerford-Hurd Funeral Home, 428 West McClure Avenue, Peoria. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Lutheran Cemetery.
