Don "Chod" Miller, 86, of Chillicothe died at 10:42 a.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. Born March 20, 1931, to Don S. and Edith Eveland Miller in Sepo - Waterford Township, IL, he married Jacqueline Yoder on Jan. 28, 1955, in Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Kimberley (Bill) Granath of Missoula, MT; Karen (Clint) Moewe, Chillicothe; Richard Miller, Chillicothe, J. Scott Miller, Chillicothe, Greg (Claire Schlosser) Miller, Longmont, CO.; Jim Miller, Bloomington; and Pat Miller, Chillicothe. Two sisters Camilla Wilmert, Lewistown; and Donna "Suzy" (Jim) Fulton, Havana; grandchildren, Ben (Sarah Hanlon) Krokum, Taylor (Hanna) Miller, Trace Miller, Zach Miller, Sarah Miller; step-grandchildren Rosemary Moewe, CJ Moewe; great-granddaughters Harper Miller and Rona Miller; step-great-granddaughter Mackenzie Moewe; and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents; brothers Bill Miller and Jack Miller; and nephew, Monty Miller, preceded him in death. He was a steamfitter by trade, specializing in controls. He was a member of Steamfitters Local 353 for more than 50 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving from 1950 to 1954 on the USS Briareus and USS Sabine. He loved baseball, especially the Chicago Cubs. He coached little league in the 60s and 70s for Chillicothe Summer Youth Activities. He particularly enjoyed fishing and hunting with his brother Bill. After retirement he enjoyed gardening and his membership at American Legion Post 9 in Chillicothe. Services will be 11 a.m., Friday, June 30 at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Pastor Jeff Goard will officiate. Burial will be in Chillicothe City Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded.
