Dennis Tucker

Dennis Eldon Tucker, 74 of Chillicothe passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at his residence.
He was born March 10, 1941 in Peoria, IL the son of Frank E. and Helen N. (Wright) Tucker. He married Cheryl Capello on December 18, 1965 in Peoria, IL.
Surviving are his wife, two daughters Debby Tucker of Peoria and Diane (George) Mattson of Chillicothe, one son Scott Tucker of Mossville, two grandchildren Eric and Rachel Mattson. Also surviving are one brother Ron (Alice) Tucker of Corvalis, OR and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother David Lee Tucker.
Dennis graduated from Richwoods High School, attended Bradley and served four years in the US Navy. After his enlistment, he settled his family in Chillicothe where he worked for General Telephone prior to joining Caterpillar. He retired after 29 years of service in Cat Electronics.
He was active his community, as he supported his children in their school and summer activities, including Scouts, Band & Athletic Boosters, and summer youth programs. He was instrumental in establishing the Blue Devils ASA travel team. Dennis was happiest when doing or providing for his family and friends. In his retirement he enjoyed time with his family, river watching, and puttering in his yard and garage.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Services will be held on Monday April 13 at 11:00AM, visitation will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2015 from 3-5pm and 1 hour before the service at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. The Reverend James Lillie will officiate. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
