BonNell K. Hattan

BonNell K. Hattan, age 73, of Chillicothe, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

BonNell was born on October 25, 1949 in Peoria, IL to Sylvester James and Mary Louise (Sayers) Sparks.  She married Kenneth P. Hattan on December 16, 1967 in Colorado Springs, CO.

Surviving are her husband, Kenny; her children. Carrie (David) Schimmelpfennig of Pekin, IL and Casey (Keri) Hattan of Chillicothe, IL; her grandchildren, Brandon and Adam Schimmelpfennig, McKenzie Ragains and Annelyse Hattan; and one great-grandchild, Xavier Schimmelpfennig.  Also surviving are her sister, Nancy Scherer of Chillicothe, IL; her brother, Kevin (Angelica) Sparks of Titusville, FL; and her nieces and nephews.

BonNell worked for Wabco in Peoria.  She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Chillicothe and the Hosta Society.  BonNell enjoyed gardening, especially her hostas, and going to her kids and grandkids activities.  She was everyone’s #1 fan.

Services will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 12pm at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe with visitation beginning at 10am.  Burial will follow at Chillicothe City Cemetery.  A luncheon will follow the burial at St. Edward Longman Hall in Chillicothe.  Memorials in her name may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
