Bette Lynn Farmer

Bette Lynn Farmer, age 81, of Chillicothe, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria.

Bette was born on September 23, 1940 in Peoria, IL to Ralph and Loraine Gray.  They preceded her in death along with her sister, Karen Short.

Surviving are her children, John (Mary Gina) Farmer of Las Vegas, NV, Julie Farmer of Chillicothe, IL and James (Christie) Farmer of Peoria, IL; three grandchildren, Joshuah, Brittany and Stephanie Farmer; and two great-grandchildren, Bentley Farmer and Shawn Farmer.  Also surviving are her significant other, Timothy Jones, of Chillicothe and her brother, Jerry “Tiger” Gray of Florida.

Bette was a Mail Carrier for the United States Postal Service for over 20 years, retiring as Assistant Post Master.  She was a member of Altrusa, volunteered at the Chillicothe Alternative School and enjoyed playing bingo.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 11am at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe with visitation held one hour prior to the service.  Burial of ashes will be at Secor Cemetery following the services on Saturday at 2pm.  Memorials in Bette’s name may be made to Easterseals.
