Bernadette Kimble

Bernadette C. Kimble, age 99, of Chillicothe, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Toulon Healthcare.

Bernadette was born on April 3, 1922 in Camp Grove, Illinois to Charles and Leona (Bushone) Lindley.  She married Charles A. Kimble in 1939 in Bettendorf, IA.  He preceded her in death in 1977.  Also preceding her in death are three sons, Albert Emery Kimble, Charles D. Kimble and Brian Kimble; her parents; three brothers; three sisters; and three grandchildren.

Surviving are her children, Rosemary (Don) Griswold of Sparland, IL, Evelyn Mohr of Chillicothe, IL, Linda (Herman) Hofstatter of Low Point, IL, Gerald (Pamela) Kimble of Sparland, IL and Lyman (Darlene Kumpf) Kimble of Chillicothe; two daughter-in-laws, Nancy Kimble and DeGala Kimble; her sister-in-law, Lois Fuchs of Princeville, IL and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Bernadette graduated from Sparland High School in 1939.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and was also a caregiver for many years.  Bernadette was a dedicated member of St. Edward Catholic Church, the Red Hat Society and Pearce Community Center.  She enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning and she loved playing cards, playing in three card clubs.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 11am at St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe. Visitation will be held Monday, January 17, 2022 from 5pm to 7pm at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.  Burial will be immediately following the Mass at LaPrairie Methodist Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to St. Edward Catholic Church, Community Needs Agency, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.  Online condolences may be made through www.weberhurdfuneralhome.com
